Iron Overload Case Library II, Case 1: Managing Iron Overload in a Patient with Transfusion-Independent Thalassaemia Intermedia

Join Dr. Ali T. Taher for this case study as he follows a patient with nontransfused thalassaemia intermedia. The decision points reflect the need for clinical judgment in anticipating iron overload despite the absence of transfusion, interpreting discordant serum ferritin levels and liver iron concentration, and responding to noncompliance to chelation therapy.
